Of the 18 golfers set to tee it up in Wednesday’s Hero World Challenge, 11 will be representing the U.S. in next week’s Presidents Cup. Tiger Woods’ Team USA is a -275 favorite to beat the International Team in Australia, but first comes an individual tune-up event in the Bahamas where every golfer will be chasing Jon Rahm.

Rahm, the defending Hero World Challenge winner and victor in last month’s DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, is the +450 betting favorite at the Westgate SuperBook. No. 3 in the Official World Golf Ranking, Rahm has won each of his past two events and has posted 16 top-10 finishes in 24 tournaments around the world this year.

Already with a win and three top-20 finishes under his belt for the 2020 PGA season, Justin Thomas (+650) follows Rahm on the oddsboard for the Hero World Challenge, played at the par-72, 7,309-yard Albany Golf Course. Thomas has finsihed 12th and 11th the past two years at the event, but his striking the ball among the best in the world. Strokes gained: Tee to Green and Approach are stats to keep in mind this week with none of the Par 4s longer than 470 yards.

Rahm and Thomas are the clear favorites before a slight dropoff to Patrick Cantlay (9/1) and tournament host Woods at 10/1. Woods is making his first competitive start since winning the Zozo Championship in October. Woods told reporters the main focus for the event is “to get sharp, knock the rust off and be ready to go to (Australia) and be ready to bring home a cup.”

One player in dire need to knock off the rust is Jordan Spieth, who was left off the Presidents Cup team amid a winless skid spanning nearly two years. The three-time major winner has dropped to No. 44 in the OWGR, but finally showed some improvements with an 8th-place finish at the CJ Cup in October. Spieth is 25/1 to earn the win on Saturday.
