On Saturday’s college basketball betting slate, Indiana is a 17.5-point favorite at home against South Dakota State, while a pair of ranked teams in Xavier and Colorado are laying similar numbers at home against non-conference foes.
Here’s a rundown of betting lines, analysis and predictions for that trio of games.
South Dakota State at Indiana betting
Tip-off: 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT
Betting records: South Dakota State 6-3 SU, 5-3 ATS; Indiana 6-0 SU, 5-1 ATS
Lines: Indiana -17.5/149
KenPom: Indiana 82-65
Torvick: Indiana 84-64
Quick analysis: In the Hoosiers’ final regular-season game against an opponent from a non-power six conference, Indiana looks to make it through November unscathed as a large home favorite against South Dakota State. The Mike Daum-less Jackrabbits have outperformed market expectations this season, going 5-3 ATS to start a new era for a program that dominated the Summit League with their star player, who won conference player of the year three times.
The health of Rob Phinisee is key for the Hoosiers on Saturday. The sophomore point guard sat out of his team’s 88-75 victory over Louisiana Tech with abdominal and rib injuries. He is expected to return against the Jackrabbits but may be see his minutes limited with a difficult December schedule on deck.
The total has gone OVER in South Dakota State’s last five games against Big Ten teams, and OVER bettors have cashed in five of Indiana’s six games this season.
Lipscomb at No. 25 Xavier betting
Tip-off: Noon ET/11 a.m. CT
Betting records: Lipscomb 3-4 SU, 3-3 ATS; Xavier 6-1 SU, 1-6 ATS
Lines: Xavier -17/134.5
KenPom: Xavier 77-59
Torvick: Xavier 76-57
Quick analysis: Xavier is 4-0 at home this season, but the Musketeers are a lousy 1-6 ATS to start the 2019 campaign. They face a Lipscomb team that enters Saturday morning’s tilt on a two-game winning streak after disposing of Navy and Tennessee Tech.
Xavier had an extended break at home after last weekend’s 70-65 loss to No. 24 Florida. While some may view the Musketeers’ upcoming home matchups against Lipscomb and Green Bay as tune-ups ahead of next weekend’s bout with Cincinnati, this week is an opportunity for the program to build some momentum before a bump in competition heading into the new year.
Sacramento State at No. 21 Colorado betting
Tip-off: 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT (PAC12)
Betting records: Sacramento State 4-0 SU, 3-0 ATS; Colorado 5-0 SU, 3-1-1 ATS
Lines: Colorado -19.5/127
KenPom: Colorado 73-55
Torvick: Colorado 74-58
Quick analysis: Colorado has won its last seven games against Big Sky opponents. The Buffaloes are coming off a 71-67 win over Clemson on Tuesday and look to keep their perfect record intact heading into December.
Colorado’s Saturday opponent, Sacramento State, is on a 5-0 ATS run dating back to last season.
The total has gone UNDER in nine of Colorado’s last 12 games dating back to last season.
