Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are once again the consensus top pick in the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest.
1,034 of the 3,328 contestants include the Packers on their Week 13 card in a week where there is less of a strong consensus opinion on the top five most popular spread picks. Green Bay is laying 6.5 points on the road against Daniel Jones and a sputtering Giants team that has lost seven in a row.
The Patriots are the second most popular choice in Week 13, with 920 entries featuring New England as a 3-point road favorite against the Texans on Sunday Night Football. 10-1 San Francisco – catching 6 points on the road in Baltimore – is third, followed by the Jets, who are a consensus top-five pick for the third straight week.
Contestant “Tuco” currently leads the contest at 42-17-1 with five weeks remaining. The weekly top five consensus selections are dead even at 29-29-2 entering Week 13. Those picks performed well last week, going 4-1.
The consensus choices this week are: Packers -6.5 (31%), Patriots -3 (28%), 49ers +6 (27%), Jets -3 (26%), and Cardinals +3 (22%).
This week, BetChicago Founder & President Frank Ignatius (aka BetChicago Frank – who cashed last year with a 53-31-1 final record) selected the Panthers (-10), 49ers (+6), Dolphins (+10), Raiders (+10), and Cardinals (+3).

The Colts are down to -1 in the marketplace amid news that WR T.Y. Hilton, RB Marlon Mack and TE Eric Ebron will be out with various injuries. I would really like a +3 here, but on a difficult card, the Titans are worthy of a selection this week as they continue to build momentum under QB Ryan Tannehill.
The market has moved this game to -2.5, so I am fine with asking Tampa Bay to simply win this game outright on Sunday. The Buccaneers snapped an 0-6 ATS run last week and will look to knock out a vulnerable Jaguars side that is 0-7 ATS in their last seven games against NFC South opponents.
We have gone to the well with the Jets here in recent weeks and have had great success doing it, but this is a great spot for the Bengals, who are re-inserting veteran QB Andy Dalton under center now that they have a nice cushion as the front-runner for the No. 1 overall pick in next year’s NFL draft. Cincinnati is eager to get its first win of the season and is a solid option catching a field goal at home.
Arizona is a 3-point dog in a game that features two teams seemingly going in opposite directions. The Cardinals enter this game off their bye and face a Rams team that may still be shell-shocked from their 45-6 Monday night loss to the Ravens. Arizona brings the clear rest advantage into this game, and they also may be catching the Rams in a major letdown spot.
Rookie QB Drew Lock gets the start for the Broncos and the betting market has acted accordingly, driving the Chargers up to -3.5 (EVEN) at some books.
The Chargers continue to outperform market expectations on the road, going 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games away from home. Star safety Derwin James is also expected to return for L.A. on Sunday, providing a boost to a defense that has been ravaged by injuries.
Overall record: 30-27-3
