Circa Sports in Las Vegas released a suite of NFL futures props this week, offering bettors the chance to get early action down on which teams will have the most regular-season wins or losses in 2020, which teams will go undefeated or winless, the exact number of wins the Raiders will accumulate in their first season in town, and how Tom Brady will perform in his inaugural year with the Bucs.
Expectations are highest in Kansas City and Baltimore, with the Chiefs and Ravens opening as co-favorites to finish the regular season with the most wins, each listed at +425 (bet $100 to win $425). The 49ers are the third betting choice, at +750 on the oddsboard, as Kyle Shanahan’s men look to avoid the hangover from their Super Bowl 54 loss.
The Colts and new QB Philip Rivers open at 25/1 odds in this betting pool, while the Bears are a tempting 40/1. Chicago is one season removed from a 12-4 record and has added Nick Foles at quarterback.
The Chiefs and Ravens also opened with the highest season win totals at Circa, both at 11.5, and while only two teams have gone undefeated in the Super Bowl era (’72 Dolphins, ’07 Patriots), these AFC heavyweights are given the best chance to accomplish the feat this season. Kansas City and Baltimore are both offered at 30/1 odds to go 16-0, while the ‘No’ side of each prop is a prohibitive -5800 (bet $5800 to win $100), an opportunity that won’t interest many recreational bettors.
The betting market, meanwhile, sees a brutal season ahead in Jacksonville. The Jaguars, in full rebuild mode, are the +315 favorite to lose the most games in 2020, and they’re the only option in the ‘will team go 0-16’ market.
Brady’s move to Tampa Bay, of course, has stirred interest throughout the sports world, the betting market no exception. Per Circa’s numbers, the Bucs easily have the better chance to dominate the NFL in 2020 than do the Patriots, with Brady’s new squad listed at 11/1 odds to win the most games and his former team opening at 25/1.
